Korean particles: 은/는 vs 이/가

Korean uses particles after nouns to show their role in a sentence. Two of the first contrasts learners meet are 은/는 and 이/가.

은/는: topic

저는 학생이에요.
As for me, I am a student.

누가 왔어요? 민수가 왔어요.
Who came? Minsu came.

The second answer focuses on who performed the action.

Form choice: 은/이 after a consonant; 는/가 after a vowel.
