What is Anki?

Anki is a spaced-repetition flashcard app. It shows each card exactly when you're about to forget it. That's how you learn faster with less effort. DeckLearn provides curated decks in Spanish, German, Japanese, French, Korean and more.

Installing on Windows

Go to apps.ankiweb.net and download the installer.

Double-click the installer → follow the on-screen steps → open Anki.

(Optional) Sign in to AnkiWeb to sync across devices.

Importing your .apkg deck

Unzip the file you downloaded — you will see a .apkg.

Choose one method:
  • Double-click the .apkg
  • File → Import inside Anki
  • Drag & drop the .apkg onto the main Anki screen

Installing on Android (AnkiDroid)

Install AnkiDroid from the Google Play Store.

Open the app → give storage permissions → sign in to AnkiWeb if you want sync.

Importing your deck

Unzip the ZIP file using your file manager.

Import the .apkg using either:
  • ⋮ → Import inside AnkiDroid
  • or tap the .apkg → Open with AnkiDroid

Why do review intervals change automatically?

Anki adapts to your performance. Each card has its own history and timing.

Can I drag and drop the .apkg into Anki?

Yes — drag it onto the main window and it imports instantly.

What's the difference between .apkg and .colpkg?

.apkg adds decks.
.colpkg replaces your entire collection. Use .colpkg only if you know what you're doing.
